Notes
1. To upgrade using the Browser Client, the CIMC bin file and BIOS cap file need to be extracted from the HUU ISO. See KB 6179 for steps on doing this.
2. You can only upgrade the CIMC & BIOS using this method. You need to use the HUU for upgrading all other devices in the server eg. NICs, HBAs, VICs, Flexflash controller etc.
CIMC
1. Login to the CIMC and go to Admin, Firmware Management.
2. Select Install Cisco IMC Firmware through Browser Client.
3. Click Choose File and select the CIMC bin file. Click Install Firmware.
4. The bin file will be uploaded to the CIMC and the install will begin to the Backup Version.
5. When the install is completed the Backup Version will now show the new version and Status will show Completed Successfully.
6. Click Activate Cisco IMC Firmware to make the Backup Version the new Running Version. Click Activate Firmware.
7. The CIMC will reboot during the activation.
8. Login again and go to Admin, Firmware Management.
9. Running Version will now show the new version.
BIOS (server must be powered down)
1. Login to the CIMC and select Power Off Server.
2. Go to Admin, Firmware Management.
3. Select Install BIOS Firmware through Browser Client.
4. Click Choose File and select the BIOS cap file. Click Install Firmware.
5. The cap file will be uploaded and the install will begin.
6. When install is completed the Status will show Completed Successfully.
7. Power on server.
