Establish WebEx session in US English keyboard layout for smooth troubleshooting.

Facts

  • The CPSD remote support team is remotely accessing customer environments through WebEx via Windows configured with an English/US keyboard.

  • CPSD might encounter technical difficulty typing certain characters from the remote PC when customers are hosting WebEx on Windows that is running languages other than English.

Solution

  1. Go to the Control Panel, open the Language preferences, and then click Add a language.

  2. Select English (United States), and then select Add. English (United States) is now added as one of your languages.​​

  3. In the Change your language preferences pane, select Options next to the language that you added.

  4. If a language pack is available for your language, select Download and install language pack.

  5. When the language pack is installed, the language is displayed as available to use for the Windows display language.

  6. To make this language your display language, move it to the top of your language list.

  7. Log off and then log back on to Windows for the change to take effect.

  8. Go to the Control Panel, open the Language preferences, and then click Options next to English (United States).

  9. In the Input method section of the Language options, confirm US is displayed.

  10. If US is not selected, click Add an input method.

  11. Select your US (QWERTY layout) on the list.

  12. Remove input methods other than US.

  13. Save this change, then close the Control Panel.

  14. Now you can switch between your local language keyboard and US English keyboard by clicking the language on the task bar.
