PowerEdge: How to Configure Isolation Response Address for ESXi Hosts

How to configure Isolation Response Address for ESXi hosts that cannot communicate with the Fault domain manager (FDM) Primary host.

Facts:

Solution:
To configure the isolation response, perform the following steps:

  1. Connect to the vCenter Server using vSphere Web Client.
  2. Go to the Hosts and Clusters View.

  3. Right-click the cluster where the Isolation Response Address is to be configured.
  4. Select the Settings option.

  5. Select the Manage tab.
  6. Ensure that vSphere HA is selected in the left column.

  7. Click the Edit button.

  8. Then expand the Advanced Options section.
  9. Click the Add button.
  10. Enter das.isolationaddress in the Option column of the Advanced Options dialog box.
  11. Enter the IP Address to be used as the Isolation Response Address for the ESXi hosts.

  12. Click the OK button.
