La creazione del cache tier (o l'aggiunta di un disco a un tier di cache esistente) in una modalità storage pool come DD6400 richiederà un attributo "force" nel comando "storage add" per completare la creazione del volume della cache.  Senza attributo "force" nel comando "storage add", il disco cache rimane nello stato "Available Disks (v)" e non verrà creato alcun tier della cache, come illustrato di seguito.  
  
MMM DD HH:MM:SS hostname> -ddsh: NOTICE: MSG-DDSH-00009: (tty=pts/0, session=4924, client_IP=XX.XX.XX.XX) sysadmin: command "storage add disks 1.3 tier cache"

Risoluzione:

se è stato aggiunto un disco cache senza attributo "force" e il relativo stato mostra "Available Disks (v)", effettuare le seguenti operazioni:
1. Connettersi al sistema Data Domain tramite SSH utilizzando l'account sysadmin.
2. Eseguire il comando: filesys expand

In questo modo viene creato il cache tier, che viene ora visualizzato quando si utilizza il comando storage show all
