PowerEdge: PSOD on ESXi 7.0 U3 when BIOS Secure Boot is enabled

Symptoms

System Reported with issue: PowerEdge R450 Installed OS: vSphere ESXi 7.0 U3 Main issue reported: The vCenter Server has an alarm about TPM Disabled and requesting to enable it in BIOS. When Secure Boot is enabled and the host is rebooted, the following Pink Screen Of Death (PSOD) is displayed:

UEFI Secure Boots failed: Failed to verify signatures of the following vibs [All VMs listed are Dell OEM VMware ESXi ISO image vibs]


It is confirmed that the installed Operating System (OS) is Dell OEM VMware ESXi ISO 7.0 U3.

Cause

Host hardware date and time are not set properly.

Resolution

It was found that a couple of months ago before detected the issue, experienced CMOS Battery issues. The TSR showed and confirmed that the Time and Date on host are in the past. It lost time configuration in BIOS. The solution was to set the Date & time correctly, and the issue was solved when Secure Boot was Enabled.
