Symptoms
When trying to register a client or a proxy, the following error is reported in avagent.log.
avagent Error <41044>: Certificate is valid from 'Feb 20 18:37:47 2018 GMT' to 'Feb 19 18:37:47 2023 GMT
Cause
This happens when the Avamar's root CA is expired. The certificate and the expiration date can be viewed with this command:
keytool -list -v -keystore /usr/local/avamar/lib/avamar_keystore -storepass $(avlockbox.sh -r keystore_passphrase)
In the sample notice, the "Valid from" line shows the expiration that matches the avagent.log:
