Symptoms

VxRail Manager segnala un errore quando si tenta di arrestare vxrail-platform-service su un nodo appena aggiunto.

  • L'attività viene interrotta con errore "Failed to stop vxrail-platform-service service!".
  • Le voci di registro indicano che la richiesta di arresto del servizio della piattaforma non è riuscita a raggiungere il nodo.

Cause

Il traffico ICMP è bloccato tra VxRail Manager e i nuovi nodi. La logica di espansione utilizza richieste ICMP per verificare la raggiungibilità del nodo. Quando ICMP viene filtrato, il gestore non è in grado di confermare la presenza del nodo, causando "ip address not reachable" errori e l'impossibilità di interrompere il vxrail-platform-service sul nuovo nodo.

 

Resolution

Consentire il protocollo ICMP tra VxRail Manager e i nuovi nodi, almeno fino a quando i nodi non vengono aggiunti al cluster.
