Symptoms
Symptoms:
Environment:
- Hosts connected using NVMe/FC or NVMe/TCP may experience I/O errors during node reboots or NDU.
Environment:
- ESXi Host 8.0 U1 is connected to PowerStore volumes/vVols.
- Host is connected using NVMe/FC or NVMe/TCP.
Cause
This is a VMware regression issue introduced in ESXI version 8. 0 U1. In this release, ESXi introduced a Native NVMe stack (aka E2E NVMe stack). Certain error codes that had a retry in previous versions of ESXI no longer have a retry applied. As a result the end applications may experience I/O failures.
Resolution
Upgrade ESXI to version 8.0 U1c or later.
