PowerProtect: PPDM File Level Recovery for NAS File Share Fails with "Error :Invalid NAS Share host"

Summary: FLR for NAS job fails while restoring files to an alternate location.

Symptoms

While restoring files to an alternate location, the NAS FLR restore job fails with the following error message:

"Error :Invalid Nas Share host : Nas Share Host must be non-empty or valid host..."

 

Error message similar to the following is found within the detailed job log for the failed job:

  • If files are restored to their original location, the job completes successfully.
  • Restoring the folder to an alternate location also completes successfully.
  • The destination file share folder selected for restore is empty.
  • Issue is present where FQDN for the domain has more than six characters after last dot (.) For example, datadomain01.company.internal

 

Cause

A software defect causes this issue.

 

Resolution

This issue is resolved in PowerProtect Data Manager version later than 19.16.
