sos 報告是一個記錄套裝，可收集 Linux 系統的各種系統記錄、組態檔案和命令輸出。這是一種從作業系統收集診斷資訊，以供 Dell 網域工程師和 Linux 廠商支援進行調查的標準化方式。
注意：在 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 及更早版本中，產生記錄套裝的命令是'
sosreport'。在 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 及更新版本中，命令會變更為「sos report'。但是，運行”sosreport' 在Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8和更高版本中，仍然以相同的方式工作。它會自動重定向到”sos report' 命令以取得舊版相容性。
“sos”包提供 sos report 命令，此命令通常預設安裝在 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 中。
若要驗證套件安裝：
# rpm -q sos sos-4.5.1-3.el8.noarch
如果由於某種原因沒有安裝「sos」包，可以使用以下命令安裝：
# yum install sos
若要在互動模式下產生 sos 報告 （以 root 身分執行）：
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 及更新版本：
# sos report

記錄套裝 （及其相關的檢查總和檔案） 通常可以儲存在 /var/tmp/。舊版的 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 可能會儲存到不同的位置，但會在命令輸出中指定。

# ls /var/tmp/sosreport* sosreport-rhel8vm-809520-2023-05-09-gbvkemd.tar.xz sosreport-rhel8vm-809520-2023-05-09-gbvkemd.tar.xz.sha256
產生後，使用者可能需要本機系統上的記錄套裝複本。通常，使用者會使用 WinSCP 等 SCP 公用程式來複製和下載檔案。這只需要通過 SSH 存取伺服器。
