PowerProtect DM5500 Appliance: UPGRADE_PRECHECK: Failed to upload PPDM upgrade Package

Symptoms

When attempting to upgrade the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance, the upgrade pre-check process can fail with the following error:

Cause

The PowerProtect Data Manager package file was not properly uploaded.

Resolution

Manual CMD line action is required to manage a possible corrupted package.
Since the PowerProtect DM5500 Appliance is a 'closed' system and bash/shell access is needed, the Dell EMC Support attention is required for such problems.
