Instructions
If Web Tools does not launch from Firefox or other browsers, use the following workaround to force the jnlp file to download to the local computer.
This either launches Web Tools or downloads the jnlp file. If the jnlp file gets downloaded instead of launching Web Tools, then open or launch that file. This should get Web Tools started (if Java is correctly configured on that host).
- If HTTPS is enabled, format the URL in the browser as:
a) https://<switch_IP_address>/switchExplorer_installed.jnlp b) https://<FQDN>/switchExplorer_installed.jnlp
- If only HTTP is enabled, format the URL in the browser as:
a) http://<switch_IP_address>/switchExplorer_installed.jnlp b) http://<FQDN>/switchExplorer_installed.jnlp
NOTE: <switch_IP_address> would be the IP address of the FOS switch. If you are trying to connect by switch name, then <FQDN> is the Fully Qualified Domain Name.
This either launches Web Tools or downloads the jnlp file. If the jnlp file gets downloaded instead of launching Web Tools, then open or launch that file. This should get Web Tools started (if Java is correctly configured on that host).
