Symptoms
An error is seen when trying to apply a license file to a Data Domain:
"XML format license already applied on the system. Switching to non-XML format license not allowed"
Cause
A .XML formatted license is required starting from DDOS 7.12 and later. DDOS 7.11 and below requires a .LIC format license.
Resolution
Contact the Dell Licensing Team to provide a .XML license file, then apply the new .XML license file to the Data Domain.
