Symptoms

PowerProtect Data Managerは、vSphere環境の保護に使用されます。Transparent Snapshot Data Mover (TSDM)と仮想マシン(VM)Directソリューションは、特定のVMの保護に失敗します。VM構成ジョブとバックアップ ジョブが失敗し、資産に独立したディスクが含まれていることを示します。 [Jobs]>[System Jobs]のVM構成ジョブと、[Jobs]>[Protection Jobs]のVMバックアップ ジョブには、次のように表示されます。

ABV0025: VM Direct engine is unable to back up the virtual machine 'my-vm-name' on vCenter 'my-vcenter'.

The VM Direct engine cannot complete protection of this virtual machine because the protection configuration was unsuccessful.

Review the error details and summary log in the Jobs window, or export the job logs and review the log files for more information. If the issue persists, contact Dell Customer Support.

Resolution

独立したディスクを保護から除外して、残りのディスクを保護できます。ここでは、独立したディスクを識別し、保護から除外する方法の概要を示します。

  • vSphere Web Clientインターフェイスに対して認証します。
  • インベントリーで影響を受けるVMを選択し、[アクション]>[設定の編集]を選択します。
  • ハード ディスクを展開して、[Disk Mode]が[Independent](永続的または非永続的)になっているディスクを特定します。
vSphereのID非依存ディスク
  • PowerProtect Data Managerインターフェイスに対して認証を行います。
  • [Infrastructure >Assets >Virtual Machines]に移動します。
  • 影響を受けるVMを選択すると、[ Disk Excluded] 列の下にハイパーリンクが表示されます。
  • ハイパーリンクをクリックすると 、[Exclude Disks] プロパティ ページが開きます。
  • トグル ボタンを選択して、独立したディスクを保護から除外します。
PPDMでディスクを除外する
  • 保護ポリシーを実行して、残りのディスクに対してVMの構成を自動的にトリガーします。
