Symptoms

Unable to protect Virtual Machine due to error: 
 "The copy [NAME_CG, Replica_at_RP_Cluster] is regulated because RecoverPoint failed to automatically create the replica VM"
From reaper-db.log: 
2024-06-04 10:43:28.535  INFO -- [pool-57-thread-1] InMemoryDBManageServiceImpl              : Alert - saved: Alert(id=996c080ee0ebf913, description=The copy [cg_NAME, Replica_at_RP Cluster Name] is regulated because RecoverPoint failed to automatically create the replica VM., severity=ERROR, category=CONSISTENCY_GROUP, rpClusterId=2ae0098ff5e108f, rpClusterName=RP Cluster Name)
On the source and target ESXi hosts there is a warning message in the Plugin: 
WARNING: There is no common network available to all ESXs on the registered ESX cluster PROD-ESX. This prevents replicating VMs from, or to, this ESX cluster.
When accessing the vCenter with RecoverPoint vCenter user, it cannot list the ESXi Cluster network details:

Cause

The cause for this issue is related with the RecoverPoint vCenter user not holding the correct permissions over the network objects.

NOTE: In some cases even if the user has admin permissions at the ESXi cluster level, for unknown reasons, they are not properly applied to all ESXi objects.

Resolution

Ensure the RecoverPoint vCenter user has administrator privileges for all ESXi cluster objects to resolve the issue.
