Symptoms

In some infrastructure multiple hosts can try to access to a single volume, for example standby and production systems. If you try to set the metro volume the following error code is retuned:  0xE0A050010097

error 0xE0A050010097

Cause

PowerStore metro volume system doesn't support mapping using different host operating systems.  i.e. It is not possible to map both ESXi and Windows server hosts to the same metro volume.

Resolution

It is possible to create an asynchronous volume with the lowest RPO (recovery point objective).  An automatic failover orchestration product such as VMware site recovery manager (SRM), or Kubernetes to automatically fail over the system.
