Symptoms

Pre upgrade health check (PUHC) fails with the following error: "Data Path memory override file exists. Please contact your service provider (off_release_dp_mem_override_file_exists)".

The health check is an off-release PUHC check that is contained in the Health Check thin package. See the Additional Info section of this article for information about the Health Check thin package.

As seen from the PowerStore Manager user interface (UI):

Data Path (DP) memory override file exists PUHC check failure

Cause

The DP memory override file is not properly handled by the system, causing NDU to fail. This issue is related to the NVMe Expansion enclosure Out Of Memory (OOM) issue.

The NDU process fails when the system has a "DP memory override" file and the user attempts to upgrade. To prevent NDU failures, it is essential to detect and resolve the Data Path (DP) memory override issue.
