Symptoms

AMD laptops do not enter sleep with the SD card installed

 

You may experience the following issue depending on your laptop model. None of the following AMD laptops can enter sleep mode if the SD card is still inserted:

Cause

This is due to a design compatibility issue with AMD.

Resolution

You should not leave any external drives including SD cards connected to your laptop when entering a different power state. Ensure that you check if an SD card is inserted Before entering sleep mode. If an SD card is installed, remove it.
