Symptoms

La mise à niveau de RCM échoue. La mise à niveau de RCM échoue au cours de la process_firmware_update :

Connectez-vous au pod thin-deployer et accédez à deployment.log du depoyment_ID/Job_ID

Cause

Le problème provient du fait que le fichier VMware_locker_tools-light_12.2.6.22229486-22348808.VIB fait 0 octet dans le fichier RCM/IC, car DELL ne fournit plus ces fichiers. Toutefois, ils sont disponibles dans le dépôt de correctifs VMware, mais ont été ignorés pendant le processus de mise à jour. 

Resolution

L’une des solutions de contournement suivantes peut vous aider.

  1. Téléchargement du fichier VIB à l’aide de la mise à niveau d’un seul composant (SCU) :
    1. Extrayez le fichier VMware_locker_tools-light_12.2.6.22229486-22348808.VIB du dépôt de correctifs VMware.
    2. Activer la mise à niveau d’un seul composant (SCU).
      Connectez-vous à l’un des nœuds MVM et exécutez les opérations suivantes : 
      kubectl patch hr asmmanager -p '{"spec":{"values":{"appConfig": {"modify_compliance":"true"}}}}' -n powerflex --type=merge
    3. Accédez à l’interface utilisateur de PFMP → Compliance Version → sélectionnez le bundle RCM → Software Bundle → sélectionnez « ESXi x.x Software Bundle », puis cliquez sur View → sélectionnez « VMware Tools VIB for Windows and Linux guest » dans la liste des composants et cliquez sur Modify.
      Téléchargez le fichier VMware_locker_tools-light_12.2.6.22229486-22348808.VIB et, sous « Nouvelle version de bundle », mentionnez la version suivante : 12.2.6.22229486-22348808. La version ici est la même que celle que vous voyez sous « Version de l’offre groupée ». Cliquez sur Continuer :
      Remarque : Vous voyez ce composant avec une balise « Modified ».

       

    4. Effectuez la mise à niveau RCM/IC.
       
  2. Installer manuellement le VIB VMware Tools :
    1. Installez manuellement le VIB extrait du package ZIP de mise à jour hors ligne téléchargé à partir de Broadcom : 
      # esxcli software vib install -v /<path_to_the_depot>/VMware_locker_tools-light_12.2.6.22229486-22348808.vib

    2. Exécutez l’inventaire de l’hôte ESXi ci-dessus à partir de l’onglet « Ressources ».
    3. Vérifiez la conformité. Le VIB installé est marqué comme conforme et ignoré pendant le processus de mise à niveau.
    4. Effectuez la mise à niveau RCM/IC.
       
  3. Réessayez la mise à niveau du RCM.  La deuxième tentative devrait être couronnée de succès.
