End of Standard Support (EoSS) Details

From time to time, Dell Technologies discontinues products, most often to replace them for systems with advanced feature sets. Dell Technologies makes every effort to support these discontinued devices for up to five years after the End of Sale (EoS) announcement. Software downloads will still be available for your product; however, this is not a guarantee for ongoing feature development or software maintenance by Dell Technologies. Customers with the appropriate ProSupport and ProSupport Plus coverage, have the privilege to request specific software feature updates, as well as prioritized patches, and fixes. Any feature updates, patches, and enhancement requests after the End of Sale announcement are reserved to the sole discretion of Dell Technologies. End of Sale (EoS) Definition:

• The date after which a product is no longer available for purchase from Dell Technologies or its worldwide subsidiaries and affiliates
• Software feature enhancements and development are complete at EoS
• After EoS, Dell Technologies Engineering will provide bug fixes/patches for up to 5 years at their discretion

End of Standard Support (EoSS) Definition:

• The product is no longer sold, development has been ended and is no longer getting updates from support, and all effort from support is the best effort 
• The EoSS date is defined as five (5) years after the End of Sale (EoS)
• After EoSS, existing software updates and fixes/patches will continue to be available, but Dell Technologies will provide no further software maintenance or updates
• Dell Technologies offers no guarantee of backward compatibility of the software

End of Life (EoL) Definition:

• All contracts for this product have elapsed, the product is no longer sold, development has ended, product updates are no longer posted, and this product is unsupported.

• PowerFlex codes that are EOSS must be upgraded to continue getting support, fix patches, RPQ, Impact Assessments (IA), and hardware replacement accordingly 
• PowerFlex Upgrade is a customer responsibility, Dell can do it as a paid service, contact your account manager for a paid service quotation 
• Running old code can be the root cause of some hardware health issues, an upgrade must be performed before doing a hardware replacement 
• If a customer is impacted by a bug linked to an EOSS code, the system is supported by Dell if the customer got an RPQ approved to do individual component upgrade to the fix Code, while planning to have a full upgrade to the whole system is ongoing in parallel
