VxRail: Install VCF Operations and assign licenses for vSphere 9

Instructions

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Broadcom Support Portal.
  • Administrative privileges in vSphere Client
  • Valid licenses intended for use with VCF Operations (contact your IT administrator for license information).

Installation Steps

  1. Download the Operations Appliance

    Download the operations-appliance OVA file from the Broadcom Support Portal.This hyperlink is taking you to a website outside of Dell Technologies.

  2. Deploy the Operations Appliance

    1. Open vSphere Client and browse to VCF Operations.
    2. Right-click and select "Deploy OVF Template."
    3. Select the downloaded operations-appliance OVA file.
  3. Complete Initial Configuration

    1. Wait for the appliance to fully boot up.
    2. Note the IP address assigned to the operations-appliance VM.
    3. Open a web browser and browse to: [operations-appliance-IP]
    4. Complete the initial setup wizard.
  4. Register and License the Application

    During the initial configuration, you are prompted for license registration:

    • Contact your IT administrator to obtain the necessary licenses that the users want to use with their VCF Operations.
    • Complete the registration process.
  5. Integrate with vCenter Server

    1. Add a connection to your new vCenter Server.
    2. Test the connection to ensure successful integration.
  6. Complete the Installation process

    After the previous steps, the VCF Ops Plugin is downloaded and deployed. And the plugin will appear in vSphere Client after the installation.
