Symptoms

  • 백업 정책에는 vCenter Server를 비롯한 여러 VM이 포함됩니다.
  • 한 VM에 정책에서 제외된 비영구(독립) 디스크가 있습니다.
  • 백업이 완료되지만 제외된 디스크에 장애가 발생한 것으로 보고됩니다.
  • 로그의 오류 메시지 
    • Error: Unable to configure protection for the asset because independent disks are not supported.
Exclude any independent disks that are configured for the virtual machine asset, and then retry the operation.

Cause

vCenter Server가 여러 VM(이 경우 81)을 포함하는 대규모 정책의 일부로 백업되었습니다. vCenter가 다른 VM과 동일한 백업 주기에서 처리되는 경우 리소스 경합 및 타이밍 문제로 인해 백업 엔진이 제외된 비영구 디스크를 실패로 잘못 보고할 수 있습니다.

모범 사례: 다른 가상 머신과 다른 시간에 예약된 별도의 정책에서 vCenter Server를 백업합니다.

Resolution

vCenter Server에 대한 전용 백업 정책을 생성하고 다른 VM 백업과 독립적으로 실행되도록 스케줄을 설정합니다.

이렇게 하면 제외된 비영구 디스크를 적절히 처리하고 잘못된 오류 보고서를 방지할 수 있습니다.
