Symptoms

PowerPath Migration Enabler with PowerPath for Windows 6.4. (occurs with PowerPath 6.3 and 6.5)
Microsoft Windows Server 2019.

After setting the migration state to targetSelected and data copied from a SAN disk to the target as a test, the host crashes.
Note:  Copying from a local disk does not cause the host to crash.

System event log:

ODX is enabled on all the hosts

Resolution

This is not a PowerPath issue. Please engage Microsoft to review the dump file on your server.

Workaround: Disable ODX on the server and proceeded with the migration.

ODX is enabled by default

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\filesystem
    FilterSupportedFeaturesMode    REG_DWORD    0x1

(The value 0X1 denotes that ODX is disabled. )

Additional Information

The issue found to occur on XIO and Unity arrays.  It appears to be related to Windows 2019.  Not able to reproduce the issue on Windows 2016.

If the host crashed in  targetselected  state, then after the reboot migration state reached  commited , at this stage we are able to copy the files from SAN disk to the source migration disk without any crash.
Howver when we reach  committed  through sequence of events like setup -> sync -> sourceselected -> targetselected -> commited (without copying any files in these stages) and then if we copy files from a SAN disk to the source disk at  commited  state,  the host crashes.
