Symptoms

Hyper-v backup fails with [Export] ExternalAPIException: Internal Server Error.

An exception similar to the following is in the node logs:

        at com.dell.vprotect.engine.hypervisor.hyperv.HypervApi.convertSnapshot(HypervApi.java:360) ~[engine.jar:?]
        at com.dell.vprotect.engine.hypervisor.hyperv.vmexport.DdBoostExport.exportIncremental(DdBoostExport.java:206) ~[engine.jar:?]

The agent logs have an error similar to the following: 

ExceptionMessage:	Could not load type 'DDBoost.ConnectorsPool' from assembly 'DDBoost, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.
ExceptionType:		System.TypeLoadException
StackTrace:
   at HyperVAgent.FileTransfer.DdBoostService.UploadConfiguration(String vmName, String exportConfPath, String backupFileName, DdBoostBackupDestination ddBoostBackupDestination)
   at HyperVAgent.Controllers.DdBoostController.UploadVmConfiguration(String vmName, DdBoostBackupDestinationDTO ddBoostBackupDestinationDto)
   at lambda_method(Closure , Object , Object[] )

Cause

Required Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 and 2015 packages have not been installed on the hypervisor.

Resolution

Agent installation requires .NET Framework 4.7.2 or higher, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 and 2015. 

vcredist_x64 is distributed with the agent, and can be found in the following location:

C:\Program Files\vProtect\Hyper-V Agent\bin
