This article describes an issue booting the system after configuring Intel Virtual technology and Virtualization-based Security (VBS) under Win10.
The system will halt the boot process at the Dell logo at first boot after disabling Intel Virtual technology in the BIOS setup with Virtualization-based Security (VBS) set to enabled under Win10.
VBS require hardware Virtual technology to work. Disabling Intel Virtual technology is an invalid operation that prevents the OS from booting.
Follow these steps to resolve this issue:
- Press the power button and re-enter the BIOS.
- To utilize VBS functionality, set VBS and Intel Virtual technology to enabled.
- To disable Virtual technology, disable Virtual technology and VBS.
- Save changes and reboot the system.
Note: Do not enable VBS with Intel Virtual technology disabled.
