Симптомы

The Latitude Rugged 5420, Latitude Rugged 5424, and Latitude Rugged Extreme 7424 may display the error message "USB device not recognized". This occurs when connecting a D3100 docking station to the right side USB port on the system. There is also a yellow bang in the Device Manager under USB devices.

Причина

The right-side USB port uses a different chip, which is not compatible with the D3100 docking station. While the USB ports on the left side of the Latitude Rugged 5420, Latitude Rugged 5424, and Latitude Rugged Extreme 7424 use a different chip.

Разрешение

In order to use the D3100 with the Latitude Rugged 5420, Latitude Rugged 5424, and Latitude Rugged Extreme 7424 systems, the USB ports on the left side of the system must be used. Otherwise the docking station does not get detected.
