Removing a 2.5 inch drive from the 3.5 inch drive carrier
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- Remove the drive carrier from the mid drive tray.CAUTION To maintain proper system cooling, all empty drive slots must have drive blanks installed.
Steps
- Push out at the edges of the carrier to disengage the tabs on the drive carrier from the slots on the drive.
- Lift the drive carrier away from the drive.
