Removing the rear drive cage
The procedure for removing 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch drive cages is identical.
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- Remove all the drives.
- Disconnect all the cables from the rear drive backplane.
Steps
- Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, loosen the screws that secure the drive cage to the system.
- Hold the drive cage by its sides, and lift it away from the system.
