Removing the hard drive

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
  3. To disconnect the cable:
    1. Lift the latch, and disconnect the hard drive cable from the system [1].
    2. Pry the hard drive cable to release the adhesive from the battery [2].
      Displays the removal of the HDD cable
  4. To remove the hard drive:
    1. Remove the four M2.0 x 3 screws that secure the hard drive to the system [1].
    2. Lift the hard drive away from the system [2].
      Displays the removal of screws from the HDD
