Removing the heat sink

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the: .
    1. base cover
    2. system fan
  3. To remove the heat sink:
    1. In sequential order (as indicated on the heat-sink), loosen the seven M2.0 x 3 screws that secure the heat sink to the system board [1].
    2. Lift the heat sink away from the system [2].
