PDF

Acquiring the Azure Resource Manager template

On request, Dell Technologies provides access to the Azure Resource Manager (ARM) template and VM Image that are required to deploy the Cyber Recovery solution.

ARM template

The ARM template declares the Azure resources that make up a resource group. The template is a text file that you can edit in any text editor.

Send a request for access to the Cyber Recovery ARM template to CyberRecoveryCloudRequest@Dell.com and provide the following information:

  • Customer name
  • Sales order number
  • Azure region in which you want to deploy the Cyber Recovery solution.

This information is required to ensure access to the correct VM image and ARM template.

Dell Technologies then grants access to the Blob Storage that stores the ARM template.

VM image

The VM image is a packaged environment that contains the Cyber Recovery configuration and other components that are required to set up an instance.

As part of the deployment, the following VM images are deployed:

  • Cyber Recovery management host (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12)
  • PowerProtect DD Virtual Edition (DDVE DDOS 7.8.0.0)
  • Jump host CIS Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Benchmark - Level 2
