Resetting the Cyber Recovery passwords

After the Cyber Recovery software is deployed on the cloud, reset the Cyber Recovery passwords so that you can access the Cyber Recovery software.

Prerequisites

Before you log in to the Cyber Recovery management host, wait approximately 10 minutes to ensure that the installation is completed.

About this task

Use RDP to log in to the jump host to access the Cyber Recovery management host.

Steps

  1. From the CLI, use the ssh tool to access the Cyber Recovery management host.
  2. Reset the Cyber Recovery passwords and follow the prompts:
    sudo /opt/dellemc/cr/bin/crsetup.sh --reset
  3. Follow the displayed directions to access the Cyber Recovery URL from a supported browser.
    The login page for the Cyber Recovery UI is displayed.
    NOTE By default, the deployment includes the Internet Explorer browser. To install a different browser, see Transferring files to the Cyber Recovery vault jump host.
  4. Reset the Cyber Recovery management host root user password:
    sudo passwd root

Results

When the Cyber Recovery passwords on the Cyber Recovery management host are reset, the Cyber Recovery environment is configured, and you can use the Cyber Recovery software. For information about how to use the Cyber Recovery software, see the Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovey Product Guide.
