Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery 19.12 on Google Cloud Platform Deployment Guide

PDF

Configuring the DDVE and storage

To configure DDVE and storage, use the bucket that was created during the Terraform deployment.

About this task

You can find the bucket in the Google Cloud portal.

For information about how to configure DDVE and storage, and for how to restore data to the production system, see the PowerProtect DDVE on Google Cloud Platform Installation and Administration Guide at Dell Online Support.

NOTE

You can access the DDVE UI directly after you log in to the jump host.

You cannot access the DDVE command-line interface (CLI) directly from the jump host by using SSH. Use SSH to access the Cyber Recovery management host. Then, from the Cyber Recovery management host, use SSH to access the DDVE CLI.

However, you must perform several steps that are not described in the PowerProtect DDVE on Google Cloud Platform Installation and Administration Guide. For the vault DD ethV1 interface to be routed outside of its subnet, add a gateway to the ethV1 interface to add an entry for it in the route table.

Steps

  1. In the Google Cloud console, from the navigation menu on the left, go to VPC network > VPC networks.
  2. Note the gateway IP address of the entry for the <prefix>-private-network-2 name.
  3. Go to the vault DDVE system.
  4. Run the net route show tables ipversion ipv4 and note that there is no route table for ethV1.
  5. Run the net route add gateway <gateway-ip> interface ethV1 command to add the gateway to the ethV1 interface, where gateway-ip is the gateway IP address noted in the previous step.
  6. Run the system reboot command to reboot the DD system.
  7. Log back in to the DD system.
  8. Run the net route show tables ipversion ipv4 and confirm that there is a route table for ethV1.
