Installing the hard drive

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

The figure indicates the location of the hard drive and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.

NOTE: : The hard drive is available only in computers shipped with 3-cell battery.

Place the hard drive into the hard-drive bracket.
Align the screw holes on the hard-drive bracket with the screw holes on the hard drive, and then replace the four screws (M3x3) that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive.
Connect the interposer to the hard-drive assembly.
Align the screw holes on the hard-drive assembly with the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Replace the three screws (M2x4) that secure the hard-drive assembly to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Connect the hard-drive cable to the system board.
