Procedure

  • NOTE: To avoid any potential damage to the cables, ensure to release them from the routing guides.
  1. Disconnect the fan-power cable (FAN_SYS) from the system board.
  2. Using the pull tab, disconnect the display cable (MB-DISPC) from the system board.
  3. Open the latch and disconnect the power-button board cable (0SDC1) from the system board.
  4. Press down the latch and disconnect the power cable (MB-DCPWR) from the system board.
  5. Using the pull tab, disconnect the hard-drive data cable (SATA0) from the system board.
  6. Using the pull tab, disconnect the I/O cable (RUSBC1) from the system board.
  7. Disconnect the hard-drive power cable (SATA_PWR1) from the system board.
  8. Using the pull tab, disconnect the USB Type-C cable (MB-TYPEC1) from the system board.
  9. Open the latch and disconnect the I/O-board cable (LAUOC1) from the system board.
  10. Disconnect the I/O-board power cable (RPWRC1) from the system board.
  11. Disconnect the subwoofer cable (WOOFC1) from the system board.
  12. Disconnect the speaker cable (SPEAKER) from the system board.
  13. Disconnect the media-card reader cable (SDRDC1) from the system board.
  14. Disconnect the side I/O-board cable (MB-SUSBC) from the system board.
  15. Disconnect the camera cable (WEBCAM) from the system board.
  16. Disconnect the microphone cable (DMIC1) from the system board.
  17. Remove the five screws (M3x5) that secure the system board to the middle frame.
  18. Lift the system board off the middle frame.
