Installing the System board

  1. Install the system board inserting the serial port on the system board through chassis [1] and install the eight 'M2.5*5' screws [2] and single 'M2*3' screw [3] on the system board.

  2. Install the two epoxy cap screws on the serial port of the system board [1].
  3. NOTE When installing the System Board, technicians must ensure that both the battery cables (1st & 2nd Battery) and FPC cables (Left I/O FPC and Express Card reader FPC) are not pinched under the System Board.
    Install the USB Type-C bracket [2] and secure it with two 'M2.5*5' screws and two 'M1.6*3.0' screws on the system board [3].

  4. Install the EDP cable [1] and place the metal bracket [2] over the EDP connector on the system board.
  5. Install the two 'M2*3' screws [3] securing it to the system board and connect the DC-in cable [4] to the system board.

  6. Connect the power button cable [1] and secure it using a piece of tape [2].
  7. Connect the USH board and touch pad cables [3] to the system board and secure it using a piece of tape [4].

  8. Connect the left I/O board FPC cable [1] and secure it using a piece of tape [2].

  9. Connect the rear I/O board FPC cable [1] and secure it using a piece of tape [2].
  10. Connect the battery indicator LED cable [3] and secure it using a piece of tape [4].
  11. Connect the dock FPC connector [5] and secure it using a piece of tape [6].

  12. Connect the touch pad connectors to the system board [1] and secure it using a piece of tape [2].

    1. Rear I/O board
    2. Battery bay
    3. Primary SSD rail
    4. GPS module
    5. WWAN card
    6. WLAN card
    7. Memory
    8. Heatsink
    9. Primary SSD
    10. Docking port assembly
    11. PCIe heatsink assembly
    12. Keyboard
    13. Bottom chassis cover
    14. Batteries
