Removing the SmartCard reader

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
    3. WLAN card
    4. WWAN
    5. SSD card
    6. chassis frame
  3. To release the SmartCard reader:
    1. Disconnect the SmartCard reader board cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Peel off the cable to release from the adhesive [2].

  4. To remove the SmartCard reader:
    1. Remove the M2x3 screws (2) that secure the SmartCard reader board to the palmrest [1].
    2. Pull the SmartCard reader board to release on the system board [2].
