PDF

New features

The following table describes the features that are introduced in OpenManage Integration with Microsoft Windows Admin Center 2.2.1 and 2.2.

Release 2.2.1

Feature name Feature description
Supports Azure Stack HCI version 21H2. OMIMSWAC now provides full support for Azure Stack HCI version 21H2 from OS Build 20348.320.
Supports Windows Server 2022 HCI clusters. OMIMSWAC now provides full support for Windows Server 2022 on HCI clusters.
Enhancements As part of the secured-core feature, the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 attribute message has been enhanced to provide Dell EMC recommendation of enabling these TPM 2.0 attributes for overall security and system resiliency, even though all these attributes may not be required for secured-core. Enabling TPM related attributes is available from the release OMIMSWAC 2.2.

Release 2.2

Feature name Feature description
Infrastructure lock for iDRAC9 based system This feature protects your infrastructure (Azure Stack HCI, Windows Server HCI, Failover clusters, and PowerEdge servers) by enabling the infrastructure lock from unintended changes. This feature prevents the infrastructure from unintended changes to BIOS, iDRAC, Firmware, Drivers involving updates and configuration changes. This feature:
  • Provides infrastructure lock status for both servers and clusters.
  • Enables infrastructure lock for HCI and Failover clusters in cluster-aware manner.
  • Allows administrators to disable the infrastructure lock for HCI and Failover clusters for the intended configuration and update to the cluster, and enables it back automatically after the operation is finished.
Secure your infrastructure with Secured-core server This feature allows you to enable secured-core servers for your infrastructure (Failover clusters) running on Windows Server 2022.
  • In OpenManage Integration extension, this feature enables advanced hardware protection of the Secured-core server comprising of Hardware root-of-trust and Firmware protection at BIOS level in a cluster-aware manner.
  • In Windows Admin Center Security extension, this feature enables dependent Operating System security features in Failover clusters.
  • OpenManage Integration leverages Windows Admin Center security extension tool to display the secured core status of clusters and cluster nodes at the Operating System level.
  • Secured-core feature in OpenManage Integration extension, when combined with the OS capabilities enabled by Microsoft WAC security toll extension, your infrastructure is fully protected against current and future threats.
NOTE Dell Technologies and Microsoft recommend to enable Secured Core for Windows Server 2022 that includes both the Dell EMC Infrastructure and Microsoft Operating System security features to protect the infrastructure from external threats.
Supports Windows Admin Center 2110 GA.
Supports for Windows Server 2022 in Failover clusters and PowerEdge servers (Limited support for Windows Server 2022 in HCI).
Limited support for Azure Stack HCI version 21H2.
Enhancements
  • Supports getting inventory details even when the infrastructure lock (System Lockdown mode) is enabled. This is supported with nodes having iDRAC firmware 4.40.00.00 and above.
  • Supports exporting compliance reports in csv format from the Compliance Summary tab during server or cluster update.
  • OpenManage Integration dashboard displays the health status icon alongside the server or cluster name. This icon indicates the overall health status of the server or cluster.
  • Unified document that includes both installation guide and user's guide content.
