Removing the hard drive assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover

    2. fan duct

  3. Disconnect the data and power cables from the connectors on the hard drive. Figure displaying how to release the hard drive assembly from the hard drive bay.
  4. To remove the hard drive assembly:
    1. Pull the hard drive release handle forward to release the hard drive bracket from the computer [1].
    2. Lift the hard drive assembly away from the computer [2].
