Removing the optical drive

NOTE:Depending on the configuration you order, you may see either of the heat sinks as shown in the image below.

Heat sink

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover
    2. bezel
    3. hard drive and optical drive module
  3. To remove the optical drive:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the optical drive from the module [1].
    2. Pull the optical drive away from the module [2].
