Removing the 3.5 inch drive rear backplane
Prerequisites
CAUTION:To prevent damage
to the drives and backplane, you must remove the drives from the system
before removing the backplane.
CAUTION:You must note the
number of each drive and temporarily label them before removal so
that you can replace them in the same locations.
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- Remove all the drives.
- Disconnect all the cables from the backplane.
Steps
- Pull the release pins, and lift the drive backplane to disengage the backplane from the hooks on the rear drive module.
- Remove the backplane from the system.
