The
NVMe expansion enclosure includes slots for 24 2.5-inch NVMe SSD drives. It uses an NVMe interface for communication between the
nodes and the
NVMe expansion enclosure. The
NVMe expansion enclosure uses the RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) network protocol to enable Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA). This allows the system to encapsulate RDMA packets over Ethernet, which results in low latency, lower CPU usage, and higher bandwidth. Because
PowerStore utilizes an NVMe over Fabric (NVMe/OF) standard, the
NVMe expansion enclosure delivers an end-to-end NVMe solution.
NOTE:The
NVMe expansion enclosure is not supported on systems that include
SAS expansion enclosures.
NOTE: The
NVMe expansion enclosure requires that the
base enclosure includes the v2
embedded module and a 100 GbE 2-port card.
NOTE:The
NVMe expansion enclosure does not support NVMe SCM drives and is not supported with SCM-only
base enclosures.
