Removing the system board

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer
  2. Remove the microSD card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the battery.
  5. Remove the ssd.
  6. Remove the ssd bracket.
  7. Remove the palmrest bracket.
  8. Remove the LED board.
  9. Remove the heatsink.

Steps

  1. Press the lock and release the card slot tray [1,2].
  2. Unlock and disconnect the LED board, USH and the touchpad cables from the connectors on the system board[3,4,5].

  3. Remove the single screw securing the metal bracket to the computer [1] and lift it away from the computer [2].
  4. Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable from the system board connector [3].

  5. Remove the five (M2x3) screws that secure the system board to the computer [1].
  6. Lift the system board out of the computer [2].
