Removing the battery

1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the base cover.
3. Remove the I/O-board interposers.
4. To remove the battery:
   1. Using a plastic scribe, push the tab and disconnect the battery cable from the system board [1].
   2. Remove the eight screws (M2x5) that secure the battery to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly [2].
   3. Lift the battery off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly [3].
      
5. Turn the computer over, open the display, and press the power button for about 5 seconds to ground the computer.
