Revision Date Feature Description
A04 2021-04-14 OME-M Catalog Support OME-M supports catalog method to help and manage the upgrade of all components and dependencies among components. For more information about this feature, see Dell EMC PowerEdge MX Networking Deployment Guide.
Default Management VLAN support SmartFabric Services (SFS) sets the MAC of the default management VLAN 4020 to the system MAC, which is different from the MAC that is used for data VLAN.
SmartFabric Command support Starting from this release, the following SmartFabric services CLI commands are supported on PowerEdge MX networking switches:
  • show smartfabric upgrade-status
  • show logging smartfabric
For more information about the commands, see Dell EMC SmartFabric Services User Guide.

Revision Date Feature Description
A03 2021-03-04 Collection of Support Bundle for all switches in Layer 3 fabric The generate support-bundle command has been enhanced to generate the support bundle and copy the generated sosreport and MD5 files to the specified remote server directory through SCP. The show support-bundle status command displays the support bundle generation status and file transfer status.
Display Longest Prefix Match (LPM) route matching a destination prefix The show ip route and show ipv6 route commands have been enhanced to display the LPM route matching the destination prefix when the mask is not provided.
Advertise ECMP route to iBGP session without changing next-hop to self Support for a new command, ibgp-ecmp-next-hop-self to advertise ECMP routes to iBGP neighbors with next-hop-self or with lowest next-hop IP address.
Display BGP routes that match an AS-path regular expression attribute Support for a new command, show ip bgp filter-list to display BGP routes that match any of the AS-path regular expression attributes from the given AS-path list.
Deprecation of IPv6 Routing header Type 0 (RFC5095) Deny or permit IPv6 Routing Header Type 0 packets in the hardware and kernel. By default, OS10 switches are compliant with RFC 5095 and drop any IPv6 routing header Type 0 packets that are destined to it.
Administrative distance for leaked routes Configure administrative distance (AD) for routes when they are exported from one VRF to another using a route-map.
Interface command enhancements Support for the following new commands:
  • show interface description—Displays the description that is configured on the interface.
  • show interface switchport—Displays the physical and port channel interfaces that are VLAN bridge ports or switch ports.
Configure VLAN on a SyncE-enabled interface Support for a new command, sync-e vlan to configure a VLAN on a SyncE-enabled interface.
SFS supported platforms Support for SFS on Z9432F-ON platform as a spine switch.
SmartFabric CLI command Support for the following new SmartFabric services CLI commands:
  • show smartfabric upgrade-status
  • show logging smartfabric
Table 4. New in 10.5.2.2Releases and document revisions.
Revision Date Feature Description
A02 2020-12-16 Dynamic discovery of nonintegrated devices SmartFabric Services (SFS) can discover end-host devices (unknown servers) dynamically based on standard LLDP PDUs without custom TLVs sent out through the connected ports.
Multirack Layer 3 VLAN network An SFS template that is used to configure IPv4 attributes for the racks in an NXS-T deployment consisting of multirack leaf spine topology.
Table 5. New in 10.5.2.1Releases and document revisions.
Revision Date Feature Description
A01 2020-11-23 Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and hybrid clocking SyncE is a physical layer technology that uses Synchronization Status Message (SSM) and Ethernet Synchronization Message Channel (ESMC) to achieve clock synchronization between upstream and downstream devices. When the hybrid clocking mode is enabled, SyncE is used to provide frequency synchronization, while PTP is used to provide Time of Day (ToD) and phase synchronization.
Control-plane management ACL logging Monitors the control-plane ACL flows and creates log messages about packets that match an access control list entry (ACE) applied on a management interface in inbound direction.
Redistribute iBGP route to OSPF New CLI to allow or disallow redistribution of the internal BGP (iBGP) routes to OSPF.
View BGP routes based on community attributes New show commands to display the BGP routes that match a specific community number, any community number from the community list, or any extended attribute from the extended community list.
CLI enhancements
  • The show tech-support command now displays transceiver information.
  • The transceiver and interface parameters are now optional for the show interface phy-eth command.
  • Based on the BGP as-notation present in the configuration, the OSPFv2/v3 and BGP show configuration commands now display as-notation based output.
ZTD automatic upgrade related changes To upgrade OS10 automatically using the Zero-Touch Deployment (ZTD) feature, use DHCP Option 240.
High-power optical modules OS10 supports high-power optical modules on switches with QSFP56-DD ports. This feature helps to prevent the risk of auto power shutdown and service disruptions because of high-power optic usage.
Multicast snooping on VLANs Multicast snooping behavior changes are described in this section.
User account password enhancements A new keyword, console-exempt is added to the password-attributes command.
RPVST+ Enhancements The OS10 interoperability feature is designed to support the convergence when the peer switch is running PVST+.
  • CLI command: show spanning-tree compatibility-mode
VRRPv3-Cisco-Interoperability-Enhancement VRRP provides interoperability for VRRPv3 IPv4 groups between OS10 and any other VRRP solutions that do not include a pseudo header in the VRRP checksum calculation.
DHCPv6 relay agent options Support for the following DHCPv6 relay agent options: interface-ID (option 18) and remote-ID (option 37).
Configuring BGP templates Ability to configure the BGP templates to support the following attributes in IPv4 and IPv6 address family level: next-hop-self, soft re-configuration inbound, maximum-prefix, and add-path.
Initiate SSH session with another switch Support to enable or disable the ssh command that lets you establish a connection between two switches.
