Removing the system fan

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer
  2. Remove the micro SD card
  3. Remove the optical drive
  4. Remove the base cover
  5. Disconnect the battery cable

Steps

  1. Disconnect the ODD cable [1], display cable [2], and system fan cable [3] from the system board.

  2. Unroute the display cable from the routing guides on the fan [1].

  3. Remove the three (M2x5) screws that secure the fan on to the plamrest and keyboard assembly and then lift the system fan off the system.
