  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. battery
    3. base cover
    4. keyboard trim
    5. keyboard
    6. memory
    7. optical drive
    8. hard drive
    9. WLAN card
    10. display hinge
    11. palmrest
    12. system fan
    13. ExpressCard cage
    14. system board
    15. speakers
  3. Perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the LED cover.
    2. Disconnect the status-light board cable and remove the screw that secures the status-light board.
    3. Lift and remove the status-light board from the computer.
