This article explains the cause and resolution of alerts related to the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC), also known as iDRAC on Dell PowerEdge-based platforms. Interface groups can be used to control the interfaces used for DD Boost MFR, to direct the replication connection over a specific network, and to use multiple network interfaces with high bandwidth and reliability for failover conditions. All protection system IP types are supported—IPv4 or IPv6, Alias IP/VLAN IP, and LACP/failover aggregation.

Introduced in DDOS 7.5 and DDMC in 7.11, multifactor authentication adds an extra layer of security on the protection system. It requires the security officer and system administrator to enter an RSA SecurID passcode before certain destructive commands or configuration changes are allowed. Data Domain - /data/col1/backup MTree is the default MTree that has been created for backward compatibility to older DDOS versions and is not allowed to be deleted.

When using failover bonding, the standby interface has many dropped packets. This is expected since the standby interface is not active.

DDOS can diagnose authentication issues for Active Directory from within the DD System Manager interface.
