When using Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) MultiHoming (MH) with PortChannel interfaces running SONiC, customers may experience a delay or failure in MAC address synchronization across Virtual Tunnel End Points (VTEPs) during firewall failover scenarios. This issue was observed primarily with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls but can occur with other devices using similar failover mechanisms. The problem results in partial or complete traffic disruption until MAC tables converge, which can take up to 30 minutes without manual intervention. Resolution: Upgrade to SONiC 4.5.1, which disables kernel MAC learning and introduces fixes for duplicate address detection and router-ID consistency. Network stability confirmed after upgrading switches to SONiC 4.5.1 and FortiGate-200F v7.4.9, build2829,250924 (GA.M)

Dynamic Port-Channel member ports that do not receive the LACPDUs from a peer LAG device are marked LACP inactive and do not carry any network traffic. However in certain scenarios, individual inactive LACP ports are still required to carry network traffic {both transmit and receive}. To allow inactive LACP ports to automatically transition into LACP ports that can carry network traffic, enable lacp individual on the Port-Channel.
