NetWorker Module for Databases and Applications

We carefully evaluate and monitor code deployment data to ensure that product releases meet our stringent expectations to provide our customers with reliable products and solutions.

This article documents the solution to the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) installation failure to start the gstdbinit process.

NetWorker does not have a vSphere Installation Bundle (VIB) to open ports needed for FLR on the VMware ESXi hosts.

After upgrading the NetWorker client software on a system, the client's "NetWorker version" is not updated in the client properties.

You have a VM which is configured with multiple disks. VM backups have been completing successfully. When recovering the VM, not all the VM disks are available for recovery. The missing disks are configured in VMware as Independent or RDM disks. VMware will not snapshot Independent disks, this is required for backing up the disk. RDM disks are bypassed during backup as they are not supported.

Customers may request the NetWorker GPG public key because NetWorker RPM packages are signed and the public key must be imported on the Linux host before the RPM signature can be validated during installation.

Updating an Action fails when a pool contains devices from different Data Domains.

The NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy is used to backup Microsoft SQL Virtual Machines (VM). The environment consists of multiple vCenter environments, and the SQL VM was copied to another vCenter outside of NetWorker practices. SQL VM restores are performed from the Data Protection Restore Client (DPRC). The DPRC wizard does not show SQL backups for a VM, no error is returned.

Sybase backups fail with the following error "Locale name "en_US.utf8" doesn't exist in your /sybase/GWP/locales/locales.dat file.

Vulnerability on "TLS Version 1.1 Protocol Deprecated" and "TLS Version 1.0 Protocol Detection" for port 5432 and port 5671 on NetWorker Server having NetWorker version 19.7.0.1 installed on Windows Server 2016

A NetWorker server is configured with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps using the nsrtrap command. The command is set on the backup action with "On Failure." After upgrading to 19.11.x from a previous release, the traps receiver only receives a nwServerNotification, the failedActionNotification is no longer received.

NetWorker Management Console (NMC) login fails: "Unexpected Error Occurred. Check the logs."

When applying an OS Rollup package on a NetWorker Virtual Edition (NVE) appliance. The rollup fails at 37% indicating that it failed to generate SSH keys.

A NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) backup or restore is started; however, the Virtual Machines (VM) in the workflow sit in a "waiting to run" state. VM restore sessions start but do not progress, no write session is established. vProxy backup and recover jobs must be canceled manually. The NetWorker server is 19.9.0.0 -> 19.9.0.3 or 19.10.0.0.
